2nd Wreck at 548

There was a 2nd wreck this morning on Hwy. 67/I-30, at Royse City, TX, just over the ridge.  You can see that traffic is being routed to the excess roads on each side of this bridge.  Police are directing traffic due to the large amount of traffic on the service roads.  Both west and east lanes of traffic have been closed because of this wreck.  The east lanes should be open by this evening to service the Friday afternoon rush traffic.
The west lane of traffic you see in this picture, will remain closed until tomorrow, as reported by the local Fire Department.
It's still unclear whether the east bound lanes of I-30 at Lake Ray Hubbard will be open by Friday afternoon traffic rush.

Major Crash

(credit: KTVT/KTXA)
According to KTVT this picture shows the crash that shut down interstate 30 in the morning traffic.  A family member called me and told me that they had just gotten to work and that was at 9:12am.  They had left the house on their morning commute around 6:15am, so you can see how bad the detours became.
From looking at the picture and knowing the local area, I can see that both sides of the freeway were closed.  It seems that the middle pylons were hit during the crash and the impact moved them around the freeway.  This area is located on one of two bridges which cross Lake Ray Hubbard connecting westbound traffic to the DFW areas.  Hopefully, the debris will be cleaned up and lanes opened again before the Friday afternoon traffic occurs.

Water?

It's not here in this state but I'm sure that most water troughs were frozen this morning here is Texas areas as well.  It looks as though our temps will warm just a bit and then we can expect rain.  The midwest states are suffering as the above picture shows.  I found this picture in one of the articles that was written on Yahoo.

Texas

Texas Our Texas

The Midwest

The Midwest becomes a big part of history during the 1800's.

Are You Ready?

It looks like a cold one this year and we are just getting started.  This polar front is coming in fast and the temps will be horrific. Some people like cold weather, but we Texans are not in that category.
Subzero cold temps will possibly plunge as far south as the Ozarks and Ohio Valley, including the  Cincinnati, Ohio and Springfield, Mo areas. Daily record low temps are possible in at least two dozen major cities from the Texas areas to the Midwest including Minneapolis/St. Paul, Kansas City, and Austin, Texas.” Arctic cold air is also spreading across Texas on Monday with temperatures expected to drop to single digits in the morning.
There goes the heating bill and I'm on a fixed income.
